Workspace density and typography
Configure tabs, compact controls, borders, editor behavior, and fonts.

Change density by component#
Lucide settings expose compact sidebar, status bar, menus, dropdowns, and tables independently. Change one area at a time, apply it, and inspect a real working panel. A dense table can show more rows while making small status text harder to scan.
Tab settings include bold labels and additional appearance controls. Inspect the focused tab and selected tree item rather than only an idle editor.
Configure borders and popups#
Borderless mode, shadowed popups, rounded borders, and tree indent guides change visual structure. Enable the combination that makes nested content and focus clear in your IDE. Platform UI support and scaling still affect geometry.
Set editor behavior#
The settings include overscroll, sticky lines, and whitespace display. These are distinct from syntax colors. Sticky lines can help retain context in long files, while visible whitespace is useful for indentation-sensitive content.
Check the same long source file before and after changing a setting so an unrelated editor/layout difference does not dominate the comparison.
Override typography deliberately#
Enable Override editor font before setting the Lucide font family, size, and line spacing. Installed fonts determine what the IDE can render. Compare with the override disabled when a scheme-specific font or platform font setting appears to conflict.
Disabling an override is also the route back to the palette/scheme baseline; reselect the matching supplied scheme if a custom copy remains active.
Preserve a reproducible combination#
Record palette, custom accent state, icon choices, density controls, and font override when reporting a rendering issue. With these independent controls, the theme name alone is not enough to reproduce the workspace.
