Overview

What Panda Dark Theme provides, its requirements, and where to start.

On this page

Panda is a minimal dark theme with vivid syntax colors and two UI treatments: the original Panda Dark and the native Islands variant.

Requirements#

IDE compatibility: IntelliJ IDEA 2025.2.3+. Check the Marketplace list for other editions and their supported versions.

The documented release is 2026.1.0. Its Marketplace compatibility starts at IntelliJ Platform build 252.26830.84. Check the Marketplace compatibility list for your IDE edition and version before installing.

Install the theme in a compatible JetBrains IDE. No language compiler or language server is required. Modern Islands variants need the corresponding platform support; inspect the release compatibility and variant notes before choosing one.

Current limitations#

Panda is a resource-only theme. It does not register a separate plugin settings page. Selection and customization use the IDE’s standard Appearance and Color Scheme settings; Islands requires a compatible platform.
