Overview

What Solidity Pro provides, its requirements, and where to start.

On this page

Solidity Pro supports Solidity and Yul editing, project-aware imports, Foundry and Hardhat workflows, Forge tests, compiler tools, external diagnostics, DAP debugging, storage analysis, and audit reports.

Requirements#

IDE compatibility: IntelliJ IDEA 2026.1+. Check the Marketplace list for other editions and their supported versions.

The documented release is 2026.2.3. Its Marketplace compatibility starts at IntelliJ Platform build 261.0. Check the Marketplace compatibility list for your IDE edition and version before installing.

Install the external tools used by your project: Foundry/Forge or Node.js and Hardhat, plus the required Solidity compiler. Solhint, Slither, LSP4IJ language servers, and a compatible DAP adapter are optional integrations with their own setup. Open the project root with its framework configuration.

Current limitations#

Inspections and audit reports are development aids, not proof that a contract is secure or correct. Compiler, framework, language server, DAP adapter, and chain integrations have separate prerequisites. Generated migrations or flattened sources need review and project tests.

These instructions target the published 2026.2.3 release. Check the version under Settings → Plugins → Installed if your IDE behaves differently. For setup failures, start with troubleshooting.
