Overview
What Marko Pro provides, its requirements, and where to start.
On this page
Marko Pro supports Marko 6 angle and concise syntax, component navigation and refactoring, live component previews, Marko Run routes, and project creation.
Requirements#
IDE compatibility: WebStorm 2025.3.1+. Check the Marketplace list for other editions and their supported versions.
The documented release is 2026.1.3. Its Marketplace compatibility starts at IntelliJ Platform build 253.29346. Check the Marketplace compatibility list for your IDE edition and version before installing.
Use a project with Marko dependencies installed through its package manager. Live preview compiles with the project’s Vite toolchain and needs a JCEF-enabled JetBrains Runtime. Node.js and a package manager are required for project generation and running a Marko app.
Start here#
Install Marko Pro, then follow Components and refactoring. The configuration reference explains where to adjust the behavior for your project.
In this manual#
- Components and refactoring — Navigate tags, rename components, and extract reusable markup.
- Preview and Marko Run routes — Preview components and navigate application pages.
Feature guides#
Components#
- Tags, catalogs, and component resolution — Resolve local, relative, and package components in a Marko 6 project.
- Extract Marko Component — Turn a selection into a reusable component with an explicit input contract.
Preview and routes#
- Component preview inputs and viewports — Preview the real component with JSON data and distinguish it from a route.
- Marko Run route workflows — Navigate page/layout relationships and run the correct application route.
Current limitations#
Live previews need the project’s supported Vite toolchain and JCEF. Extract Component refuses selections whose dependencies cannot be represented safely in the new component. Marko Run routes and component previews are different contexts: a component may need JSON inputs that a real route normally supplies.
