Pages, routes, and layouts
Navigate effective routes, named views, and layout references.
Inspect page routes#
Open the Nuxt Pro tool window and inspect its Page Routes view. Navigate from a route to its source, or use route gutter actions in page files. Static definePageMeta({ path: ... }) overrides are reflected in effective routes, including optional and catch-all parameters.
Work with named page views#
Nuxt 4.5 named pages such as child@sidebar.vue share their default page route. The tool window groups these entries instead of inventing an extra @sidebar URL. Ctrl/Cmd-click a reference such as <NuxtPage name="sidebar"> to navigate to the matching named child view.
Follow layouts#
Complete or navigate a layout name in static definePageMeta, setPageLayout, routeRules.appLayout, or <NuxtLayout name> references. Layout candidates come from the project’s files. Check actual naming and location when a reference does not resolve.
Rename a page#
Use IDE Rename and review the text-occurrence preview for route-string updates. Pay particular attention to NuxtLink, navigateTo, router calls, and fetch references. Generated or dynamically assembled URLs still need testing in the running application.
