Configuration
Settings, tools, and project configuration for Gleam Pro.
Toolchain and language server#
Open Settings → Languages & Frameworks → Gleam. Select a detected compiler, provide an executable path, or use the managed compiler. Check the compiler version and runtime before creating a run configuration. The published 2026.2.4 release updates the managed compiler to Gleam 1.19.0.
Global and project toolchain choices let different projects use different compilers. An explicit setting takes precedence over automatic discovery. The IDE may have a different PATH from your terminal; use a full path when detection fails.
Formatting#
Choose the built-in formatter or the official gleam format command. The latter needs a working compiler. Use Reformat Code for routine formatting and preview the version-control diff before applying project-wide changes.
Run configurations#
Use Run → Edit Configurations to select a Gleam task, package root, target, and JavaScript runtime. Task-specific controls follow the options supported by that task. If the manifest chooses JavaScript by default, the configured Node, Deno, or Bun runtime still applies.
Offline work#
Disable language-server integration when working fully offline without a compiler. Native syntax, structure, and local editing remain useful; compiler-backed diagnostics and execution require the toolchain.
