Troubleshooting

Diagnose setup and workflow problems in Gleam Pro.

The package is not detected#

Open the directory containing gleam.toml. In a monorepo, check each package manifest and refresh the Gleam project model after adding a package.

The language server cannot start#

Run gleam --version outside the IDE, then check the configured executable in Gleam settings. Use the Gleam restart-language-server action after changing the compiler. Inspect the LSP4IJ console for startup errors.

Breakpoints do not bind#

Confirm the target is JavaScript, Gleam is at least 1.16, and source_maps = true is in the [javascript] section of gleam.toml. Rebuild so generated JavaScript and maps match the open source. Confirm the JavaScript debug adapter is available through LSP4IJ or its configured path.

Report an issue#

Use email support and include:

  • Your IDE edition and full build number from Help → About.
  • The installed plugin version; this manual covers 2026.2.4.
  • Relevant external-tool versions, the failing action, and a small reproducible example.
  • The error message and relevant log excerpt, with credentials and private project data removed.

Use Help → Show Log in Finder/Explorer to locate IDE logs when requested. Describe what you expected to happen and whether the same operation works from a terminal.
