Configuration

Language server#

Open Settings → Languages & Frameworks → Slint. The plugin detects Slint versions from lockfiles and manifests, then chooses a matching managed server. Use an external executable for offline or custom toolchains. Compare the displayed version with the project’s dependency before overriding detection.

Designer and preview#

In the Slint settings, choose Integrated Slint Designer or Native Slint LSP preview. The integrated runtime can come from the VS Code extension or GitHub web release. The former follows the IDE theme; the latter uses its published light theme. Unavailable compatible runtimes fall back to the native preview.

Editor#

Configure syntax colors under Editor → Color Scheme → Slint, indentation under Editor → Code Style → Slint, and individual checks under Editor → Inspections → Slint. Live templates are under Editor → Live Templates → Slint.

Source linking#

Keep Link Designer selection and source caret enabled when using visual selection or Gallery insertion. Unlinked mode lets you inspect source and design independently, but disables Gallery drops into the Designer.
