Overview

What Slint Pro provides, its requirements, and where to start.

On this page

Slint Pro combines language intelligence with an integrated visual Designer. Use linked source navigation, a component Gallery, refactoring, and project templates for Rust, C++, Node.js, Python, and embedded Rust applications.

Requirements#

IDE compatibility: IntelliJ IDEA 2025.3.1+. Check the Marketplace list for other editions and their supported versions.

The documented release is 2026.1.8. Its Marketplace compatibility starts at IntelliJ Platform build 253.29346. Check the Marketplace compatibility list for your IDE edition and version before installing.

LSP4IJ is a required plugin dependency. The integrated Designer needs a JCEF-enabled JetBrains Runtime. First use of a managed Slint version requires internet access; alternatively supply a local slint-lsp. Install the host-language toolchain separately to build or run the application.

Start here#

Install Slint Pro, then follow Designer and Gallery. The configuration reference explains where to adjust the behavior for your project.

Current limitations#

The integrated Designer depends on a runtime available for the selected Slint version and may fall back to native preview. Visual insertion must still satisfy compiler rules. Component extraction is conservative and rejects dependencies that cannot cross a component boundary safely.

Release reference#

These instructions target the published 2026.1.8 release. Check the version under Settings → Plugins → Installed if your IDE behaves differently. For setup failures, start with troubleshooting.
