Bibliographies and authoring

Manage citations, tables, document structure, and package-aware editing.

Add a bibliography#

Keep the document and its referenced .bib resources in the project. BibTeX editing includes entry and field completion, duplicate-key checks, required-field checks, structure, navigation, and rename. Citation completion searches keys, authors, titles, and years from the active document’s bibliography resources.

Use Rename on a citation key to update references. When removing an entry, inspect usages rather than deleting a line without checking which documents cite it. Chapter-scoped bibliographies remain scoped to their chapters.

Search and review metadata#

Bibliography tools can search by DOI or metadata. Review the editable import preview and duplicate-merge proposal before accepting; do not replace a carefully edited entry solely because a provider returns different capitalization or fields. External bibliography libraries can use exported .bib files or configured cached sources.

Write structured documents#

Use the Structure view for sections and document dependencies for included files. Generate in a LaTeX editor provides document elements, table insertion, and formatting actions. The multipage longtable editor retains repeated headers and footers; verify the PDF after structural table changes.

Completion and documentation combine bundled package knowledge with installed packages when distribution indexing is configured. Dynamic macro definitions can exceed static analysis, so compare inspection warnings with the compiler result.

Convert to or from Typst#

Configure a local Pandoc or Morph executable under LaTeX → Conversion, invoke conversion from the file context menu, Refactor, or Tools, and review the proposed change before overwriting. Check formulas, bibliography, cross-references, and layout in the destination format.
