Privacy, saving, and export
Keep editable work and produce the right deliverable.
Hide sensitive details#
Use blur, pixelate, or spotlight tools to focus attention and obscure unwanted regions. Inspect the result at the final export scale. For sensitive material, review the exported pixels and avoid sharing the editable project or original image when those retain the underlying information.
Save editable work#
Use Save to write the .imageedit.json project. Imported bitmap layers live in the adjacent asset directory. The first save of an older v1 manifest retains a .v1.bak copy when migrating it to v2.
Keep the image, manifest, and assets together for continued editing. A flattened PNG is useful for distribution but does not preserve the original layer structure.
Choose the export area#
Select source frame, current selection, or all content according to what you want to distribute. Content outside the source frame appears only when the chosen export area includes it. Choose PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG as appropriate and inspect the new output.
PNG is a useful starting point for crisp UI screenshots and transparency; JPEG is better suited to opaque photographic imagery. Test the chosen format in the destination application. Clipboard copying is convenient for pasting, but keep a saved editable project for later revisions.
