Navigation and export
Refactor a Typst project and produce shareable output.
On this page
Work across files#
Open the whole Typst project so imports, assets, and the main document are visible. Use Tinymist-backed completion, Go to Definition, Find Usages, and Rename for supported symbols. Pin the main file when editing included chapters so preview continues compiling the complete document.
Use inspections for missing titles, missing code languages, blank-line consistency, list markers, and unmatched formatting. Review each fix against the project’s intended style.
Format source#
Select the supported formatter in settings and use Reformat Code. Confirm the formatter executable if using an external tool. Inspect a small formatting diff before applying changes to a large project.
Export#
Use the Typst export actions in the Tools menu for PDF, PNG, SVG, HTML, Markdown, plain text, or advanced/bundle output. Check the chosen main file, destination, and format options before starting.
Open the exported result to verify page layout, fonts, images, links, and formulas. Text-oriented or HTML exports may not preserve the exact appearance of a paginated PDF. Keep source and exports distinct so the next build can be reproduced from the Typst project.
