Conversion and Knap templates
Convert documents with review, or generate Markdown from structured data.
Configure Morph#
Open Settings → Tools → Markdown Pro → Document Conversion. Use Download latest for a managed Morph installation, select an existing executable, or use Auto-detect to search PATH. Confirm the detected version and source.
Choose Convert Document from the editor, Project view, Refactor menu, or Tools → Markdown Pro. Select an output format and review the diff before overwriting an existing file. Markdown can be converted to and from AsciiDoc, reStructuredText, Typst, LaTeX, Djot, Org mode, Textile, HTML, and DocBook. Conversion is a starting point; check links, tables, code blocks, and format-specific constructs afterward.
Build a Knap template#
Open the Knap Playground and bind a Markdown template to JSON, CSV, or a folder of JSON files. Use the record-by-record preview to check substitutions before writing output.
Configure the filename template and inspect every generated name. Batch generation validates the set before writing, including collisions. Keep data and generated output directories distinct when experimenting so the next run does not accidentally include earlier generated files as input.
Review generated content#
Inspect the proposed file set and a representative output for empty values, escaping, heading hierarchy, and relative links. Save only once the preview matches the intended documents. Commit the template and source data when appropriate so the generated result can be reproduced.
